Ermmmm--1" of water is equal to 13.6" of mercury, same ratio as their
specific gravities.

Pretty easy to make a pair of manometers with a board, an old yardstick,
two loops of clear plastic tubing, some staples, and some water with a dab
of food coloring in it.

Careful not to suck the water into the engine, but a manometer's accuracy
will put most gauges to shame.
