Delta is an amount of change.

like if 1 measurement of time is 4:30:09 pm and another is 4:30:29 pm then
we say "delta T is 20 seconds"

take the latest reading and subtract the previous reading for delta as an
example of delta TPS. if the delta TPS is negative then the TPS has switched
directions.

now try this one:

 If delta TPS is greater than the previous delta TPS and they are both
positive, the rate at which the throttle is opening has slowed, but it is
still opening.

if delta TPS is less than the previous delta TPS then the throttle is
opening at an increasing rate. (someone is really trying to go fast,
rapidly)

before windoze I could type alt-characters and show you the triangle that
represents delta.. anyone know the trick to show delta in windoze?
