RE: MAP signal dampening



Hi Mike,
      I have had pretty good luck dampening the pulses with a small orifice
in the vacuum line(.050"-.060") feeding the MAP sensor....this can cause
problems with the transport delay byte(s) for AE vs MAP and can be dealt
with in the prom or by moving the MAP sensor closer to the
manifold.....there are truly better ways to deal with a big cam but takes
alot of programming and can be dealt with quicker by using an orifice until
you get the calibration close.....it is also a good idea to play with the O2
sensor gains and slow them down to help with unstable MAP till you get
close...or better yet turn off closed loop till you get the VE tables
correct...hth's

will remote mounting a map sensor (attached to manifold with vacuum hose)
dampen some of the idle fluctuations or average out the MAP signal?  If so,
what is the proper ID tubing?
