Bill,
IF you disconnected the MAF and the car straightens out, you've found
the quick and dirty method of diagnostics. MAF sensors are bad for getting
lint and other foreign material on the sensing area--and this then tells the
ECM the wrong grams/sec rate...try cleaning it first with some "brake
cleens"--thoroughly let it dry and then re-install on the car and check
operation. IF it doesn't smarten it up--you'll probably need a new MAF.
