??, Why not?, the O2 generates a voltage and applies one.
I've applied voltages to them for years, basically.  Just I haven't tried
over 1 volt.

On the one ecm (1227749), I got rigged at the moment the supplied voltage to
the O2 is .390 volts, with a reported by diacom .45v engine on not running,
then when the ecm thinks the engine is running (or not) follows the O2
voltage fairly closely.
