The spacer plate (with sensor), went on the manifold, then the thermostat,
and then the housing.   The CTS needs to know what the coolant temp is in
the block.

Well, that's kinda a lie, the CTS needs to know the temp around the
combustion chamber/ exhuast valve seat area.
And the two reasons are.
  The operating temp of the chamber (meaning coolant temp in this case)
effects what the operating AFR should be (inna broad sense),
  the exhuast valve area is the first place to show signs of a "overheating"
condition.
Also, drill a small hole in the thermostat, to be sure that it is self
bleeding........

be after the thermostat(i.e. themostat then sensor then engine block)?  I'll
probly be machining an adaptor tomorrow and need to know.
