Amen, brother. As someone who has to hand REMOVE/edit this crap from the
archives for our own small list, I just wanted to second your emotion.
Must be a major pain with the size of the diy-org lists. Yow.

Not only can't you read it, but it SIGNIFICANTLY bloats the size of the
archives AND makes searching a royal pain as well.

In fairness, we've found on our lil XAviation list that most people
aren't even *aware* they're sending an HTML goiter or a winmail.dat
wart. Here's a tip we've found helpful...

ANYONE using any Microsoft email products, or EITHER of the popular
internet browsers IE or Netscape for email, it's VERY likely your
defaults are set to emit this crap along with you email. So you
especially NEED TO CHECK your email options if you are using any of the
above.
