I'd strongly recommend not  to try that.
An engine *twists* as it revs up.  The manifold gets twisted, and tries to
work on it mountings.  Think was D Landy hooked a set of dial indicators on
a 426 Hemi, and the engine twist 3/4 from opposite corners of the valve
covers.  Ever help pick up a Hemi Block?..

Lots of machine shop stuff can be done with a hacksaw, drill and file.  Not
your Walmart quality stuff.  Good hacksaw blades (and the right tooth
count), can quickly cut up AL, and a good file can quickly have thing
looking as good as a mill.  The trick is a good pattern and thinking things
out.  Like the lid I made for using a Q-Jet on a cross fire took a total of
about 3 hours, and no mill would have made it look any better.
