Re: need help with '165 in Vette

I have an update on both of my problems, both of which are fixed now:

10 gms/sec

ALDL

Bingo. That was what was going on. The ECM raises the commanded idle speed
by 50rpm when in Park or Neutral. Putting the tranny in gear resulted in the
programmed target idle sped.

Accel TPI. Ported and extrude honed.

6 deg at the dist, pretty much stock timing table (for now).

Fixed. See above.

Check your fuel pump voltage guys!!!

The car in question has a large in tank pump (255lph I think). This resulted
in a fuel pump voltage of 11.9v. The ECM increases the pulse width when it
sees a lower than normal voltage. By running a secondary 10gauge power wire
(through a relay) to the fuel pump, the voltage increased to 13.1v, and the
BLM went to 124. Thus, the extra rich idle problem is solved.
