Re:3800 ECM's



The 16132792 and the 16141470 are electrically IDENTICAL, just like the
727/730. This is a very flexible controller covering both NA and SC
applications, as well as electronic and non-electronic transmissions. It's
all choosable(sp?) in the option selection area of the calibration. The
1228253 was specific for the "C" 3800 engines, and the 16141470/16132792 is
specific for the "L" and "1"(SC) engines.  I think it's the overlap of "C"
and "L" engines in the 90-91 time frame that leads to the confusion, but the
above info is correct. I guess you can refer to the "L" controller as a PCM
or ECM, depending upon which trans is being used.
