Re: sbc in place of lt1

First problem to consider is how will the trans be shifted. In a manual trans
car, no problem, but an automatic would require a standard 700R4 or a PCM to
shift the 4L60-E. TCI has a T-Com ECU that will handle the electric
transmissions.
A small base distributor will fit behind a TPIS mini-ram and do the job.
BTDT. Unfortunately it won't satisfy the 8051's ignition input signals. At
this point sequential injection and MAF is already out the door. A late model
C1500 5.7 PCM can handle both tasks. If installed by someone with good wiring
skills. This would still require a DRAC module to handle the vehicle speed
signal. Coolant fan and a/c clutch relays operation would also need to be
delegated. Data stream problems may arise between ABS and SIR links. If all
else fails, an ACCEL/DFI or 730/727 ECM could also be used as a stand alone
system.
Next to deal with is the front accessory brackets. An electric water pump can
help out. The rest is up to you, the brackets will kind of line up. It's
going to take some mocking up.
Later, AL
