If anything, go a range cooler and stick with the stock gap (or .005
smaller). A hotter plug will always erode quicker, can cause detonation--yet
however, fire easier with a wider gap. The ol' thought was wider gaps fire
leaner mixtures--which is true. Under
higher compression, the wider gaps caused more emissions due to
miss-fire...my
personal experience is that colder plugs are better overall. We race with #7
range NGK's in our BBC. Anyone ever pay $35 bucks for a spark plug ?? <g>
