Bruce is correct.

When there are certain areas of the curve that I know need to be adjusted 
I do the adjusting on the VE map.  I usually make sure that the adjustment 
is smooth.  That's the biggest things.  Yes, there are peaks and valleys 
... but, no drastically sharp spikes.
