Limp/Walk Home is even MORE risky at 1000ft. Altitude if your FRIEND.
At 5k ft, you have a little bit of glide and manuevering/recon time;
at 1000ft, you're landing vewy vewy soon. And yes, some of the smaller
light planes DO have a chute! Yes, for the whole bloody plane, even.
Problem again is, you need altitude for safe deployment. Just all
around better to "keep it up"; nice that these days we HAVE the
technology. Think of backup electrics as Viagra for your airplane. :)

Kiinda curious how much redundancy is used in road-racing these days?
Anyone seen any examples of it showing up?
