HEi module output

Basically i've checked out the distributor fully after noticing that
running in by-pass mode (disconnecting the hei link to the ECM) causes
the ECM to output the ALDL data accurately. I've measured the pulse
output (HEI timing) and the pulse feedback from the HEI module. The HEI
produced pulse looks about the same as the ECM pulse, although not as
perfect.

When looking at the pulse at idle, about 1/5 of the pulse is high. When
looking at the peak, the voltage remains around 5.65V, where at the
beginning and at the end of the peak, the voltage is slightly lower.
Okay, this seems normal probably, especially since the amplifier is
amplifying the pulse that it picks up. Now, on that same peak, if you
look closely at the pulse, the voltage sharply drops (like a spike) and
returns at the peak level before dropping normally again to 0.2. Has
anyone here looked at HEI pulses before? Is this normal? Any info on
this would be greatly appreciated.
