Re: TPI flow numbers (was Re: ALDL data)



Thanks KEvin, I have the TPIS book as well as John L's SBC book... What I'm after is numbers for the ENTIRE SYSTEM, ASSEMBLED. I dont imagine anyone but the manyfacturers have gone to this extent, and it may be guarded info??

Hey, finally a question to which I have the answer!! I compiled the data below from two sources (GM High Tech Performance magazine and TPIS Insider Hints reference).

From GM High Tech Performance July 2000 issue:

Runners:
Stock: 203.17 cfm
Accel: 242.02 cfm
Extrude/Accel: 275.83 cfm
Super Ram: 289.18 cfm

Stock Intake w/ the Following Runners:
Stock: 198.72 cfm
Accel: 213.52 cfm
Extrude/Accel: 217.11 cfm
Super Ram: 220.67 cfm

Accel Intake w/ the Following Runners:
Stock: 215.83 cfm
Accel: 232.53 cfm
Extrude/Accel: 243.21 cfm
Super Ram: 240.24 cfm

Stock Intake w/ 3/8" Radiused Inlet: 222.45 cfm

Accel Intake w/ 3/8" Radiused Inlet: 251.51 cfm

Extrude Honed Accel Intake w/ " ": 275.83 cfm

Extrude Honed Accel Intake w/ Accel Runners: 266.94 cfm

(note: TPIS' flow data on same components varies by approximately -15cfm versus GMHTP data)

Stock throttle body: 668 cfm
" with TPIS airfoil: 709 cfm

Stock MAF: 529 cfm
Screens out: 711 cfm
Fins removed: 750 cfm

Stock intake base w/ stock runners: 181 cfm (vs. 198.72 cfm in GMHTP)

Stock intake base w/ cast large runners: 193 cfm (vs. 213.52 cfm " ")

Stock intake, stock runners, ported plenum (presumably stock 48mm TB: 183 cfm

Stock intake, stock runners, ported plenum, TPIS airfoil: 187 cfm

Ported intake, stock runners, ported plenum, TPIS airfoil: 193 cfm

Ported intake, siamesed runners, ported plenum, TPIS airfoil: 203 cfm
