Re: Use of MAP in FI calcs



Baro ? Weather correction , ratio of atmospheric pressure in front of throttle valves , versus percentage of pressure behind throttle valves, make appropriate fuel corrections as part of adaptive learning process on daily startup / restart process. Don't have a clue how this is connected with Exh scavenging other than normal weather tuning changes by default process of atmosphere in a state of flux. Everyone's doing the best they can to compensate. How much of the atmosphere is entering the inlet manifold seems the thinking behind it all , each start / run
   cycle.

Ok, so baro is either sampled at power up or in some cases continuously sampled. I agree with Ludis that what is needed particularly in the mass airflow calcs is the pressure inside the manifold, not outside. So.. is the only purpose for baro then the correction for the effect on exhaust scavenging that someone mentioned? I would think that a few kPa variation in baro would have minimal effect on scavenging.
