In the beginning, ECMs used just a MEMPAK (aka just a PROM).  By 1984,
less common models used a MEMPAK along with a CALPAK (aka netres).  In
1986, the '165 introduced a MEMPAK and CALPAK in one unit called the
MEMCAL.  Older generation ECMs with seperate MEMPAKs and CALPAKs
continued to be used until 1995.  OBD II finally killed off that
generation of ECM.  (Actually, they might have been used even later but
only on big "heavy" trucks.)
