Yep Bruce , I've had occasion to test certain aftermarket chips , most don't make any difference or some are so trick the engine won't idle. I mean with all that Dyno Hype and the likes there must be at least 100 Hp lurking in software calibration and after 20 miles of driving we need to pull into a gas station and off load fuel. Yah , Right ! A Dyno is a useful TOOL in the Hands of an Experienced Operator , like ANY other Tool. Unfortunatly you just can't put slicks and a steering wheel on a Dyno. Putting all of one's faith in a DYNO test without Road / Track comparisons is not reality , just nonsense. Same with Software Dyno Simulators , useful as they are , I'ts easy to adjust one's self out of business with pie in the sky numbers not being able to pay attention to areas under the curves , etc. Drive ABILITY and the numbers on the time ticket clear the smoke fast. If we put in a 306 / 320 @ 50 and 2000 Cfm's in our stock TPI setup and change the chip , it ought to run in the 9 s , right ? Ha ha !! [Does Wheelies driving off the curb too.]

Gee, I've heard that claim too, by another manufacturer, and just happen to
know the guy who was the test car for their developement.   Stynker Chip,
made no difference on the 90 MY car he was running.  I'm not gonna get the
great dyno debate going again, but, who races cars on dynos?.
