Not if that 9396 code needs the extra SRAM.
Just guessing here, but I think the 9396 code uses the SRAM for storing
data to control the 4T60-E.  The 9396 was used with the 91-93 3.4 DOHC
which was mated to a 4T60-E, and the 9396 was also used on the 3.1T when
it was mated to the 4T60-E in '93.
