Re: 165 ECU File

Should your friends combination be spark advance sensitive those "couple
extra degrees" of timing could lead to increased KS response and slow you
down at the same time. Use a Scantool and monitor the result. Give the engine
what IT WANTS , rather than what YOU WANT. Works every time!
Apples to apples, a 20 BHP increase could be a stretch , everything else remaining
equal. Free advice is worth exactly what it COST, IMHO.
  Len
Well he's a good friend of mine and I'm not charging him anything to do
this. I'm not gonna get in "over my head". I'm gonna give him a couple more
degrees of timing, turn his fans on a little earlier, maybe mess with the
TCC lockup speeds etc... That's what an "off the shelf" aftermarket chip
does pretty much. I told him he's not gonna see 20 horsepower from this and
he fully understands. BUT I'd like not spend the 20 bucks required to buy
the definition file from TunerCat and just use WinBin which is free :)
