Re: Just got my TPI running...questions...



Generally code 42 is set when the ecm detects too high/too low voltage
on the bypass line.

More specifically, if you disconnect the set timing connector and run
the engine, you set a code 42.

Before diagnosing this code, make sure that it's current.  Clear all
trouble codes, start the car, see if it returns.

Running the wiring harness too close to the plug wires has been known
to cause intermittent code 42/43.
