Re: head gaskets



   Many "Bent " OHC head castings are successfully repaired by shimming @
high spot on a torque plate , torque them to spec , then relaxing them in an
   oven. OHC castings must be straightened in this manner prior to resurfacing
or for sure , the cam won't turn. These heads don't make good boat anchors.

It's a bigger problem with the OHC heads...cam bore distortion gets
pretty bad with a re-torque after machining beyond the spec. We
just chuck 'em...it's not worth a comeback.
