Mark, I haven't had experience with the VR. It should work, the larger chip 
would have the data for shifting the 4L60E. Just leave the harness from the 
auto unplugged with the exception of the neutral switch wiring, otherwise 
the ECU will think the auto is in gear, upping the IAC.

If you haven't already done so, get a cold air duct. If you don't want to 
spend a lot, get the Clubsport bits from any Holden dealer. Best 70 bucks 
I've spent on a car.
