[Gmecm] More L31 questions- crank and cam position sensor.

Are the crankshaft positioning sensors on these engines behind the timing cover and part of the crank? If so, anyone know of an aftermarket wheel that would work when adapting this to other engines?  
 
And the cam sensor looks like its in the distributor, is that right?
