396 is going to use alot of air,
the MAF only will measure 250 grams / sec.,  once you peg the MAF your out
of calibration data, and just using the same data from 250g/sec to 35 or
what ever you do flow.
   I see no problems other then changing from 2 to 3 ecm connnectors.
