Turbo Selection

Even as you finish up one project, you already have your sights set on another. Or at least that is the way it is with me. Remember back in September when I wrote about the EFI conversion I completed on a 79 Dodge Omni with 1.7L engine using a 730. I had the choice of using the 8D code or the Sy\Ty code, most of the time using the 8D code for the hi-way fuel mode. Well, now I would like to use the Sy\Ty code, and use it to its full potential. That's right, install a TURBO on the little buggy. Problem is, what turbo I should use. I was looking at the Garret T3, which is readily available at the local wrecking yard(bunch of turbo Dodge cars here). Intake manifold looks like it will have to be made from scratch, which shouldn't be a problem with the tools I have lying around the farm. This brings up another question, what type of metal should I use? Looking at going with a blow-thru setup, so I am going to have to get a BOV or something similar, so I don't damage the turbo during shifting.
Of all the turbo fanatics on the list, is there anything else I should know? Suggestions. Pointers. And anything else that comes to mind. Any and all help is really, really going to be helpful. BTY, the engine is the 1.7 Litre engine made by VW but used by dodge. Even the transmission is a VW trany, makes changing to a 5 speed a bolt-on item.
