I agree. I have used WeathePak in various race cars for many years without
failure as well as many longterm personal projects. From talking to
Packard engineers, the only negative aspect to weatherpaks is they were
designed for a minimum numbers of insertions and removals and thus are
not suitable for a connector that is to be removed/inserted many times.
Packard made a premium copper/beryllium pins ( gold colored ) for awhile.
I had several hundred for a GM race program but they are mostly gone now.
I asked recently about them and they are apparently not to be made
anymore. At the time, I was told they were more resistant to insertions
and removals.

Something like the AMP or Deutsch series plastic connectors with nice
gold plated pins etc are better for that kind of app.
