Maybe some of you can help me out here. I have been putting GM FI engines
into older vehicles, specifically old Toyota Land Cruisers. The last one was
a 1994 TBI350/4L60E combo. I am now looking at a 1998 Vortec 350/4L60E.
I have been told that I may run into a problem starting the vehicle due to
the Passlock system which may have been on the donor truck. Is there a way
around this? I know that the Passkey systems could be worked around with a
resistor. Can I have the computer reprogrammed to eliminate this feature or
what? Someone explain this system to me. Thanks

The Vin code stored in the PCM or supplied with the donor parts contains the ID inf for
Pass key value. A friendly GM dealer can decipher this information to make life easier
on completing the swap and getting the engine to lite.
