FAQ ideas

-> other then how to install it what is NEEDED

ECM - usually junkyard item

PROM - if you can find one close enough for the car to at least
start and run it will save a lot of trouble in the early stages

wiring harness - matched to ECM. The ECM connectors are mostly the
same, but the pinouts in the connectors vary.

fuel pump - 15 PSI for TBI, 45-ish PSI for port injection. If the car
has no in-tank pump, the pump from a fuel injected Nissan 280 or
300ZX or EFI VW Rabbit will work; these are external high pressure
      pumps.

fuel pressure regulator (port injection)

throttle body with TPS. TBI and TPI TPS sensors are shaped differently
and use different connectors, but are electrically the same.

appropriate distributor, coil, and HEI module for application

coolant temp sensor, knock sensor, oil pressure sender(s), fan relay(s),
MAP sensor, air temp sensor, MAF sensor, etc. as appropriate for ECM.

VSS sensor - I have notes on that somewhere...
